The mission of the Economic & Community Development Department is to promote economic development and orderly growth in the Village of Barrington, to maintain the Village's retail sales tax revenue base and continue to enhance the high quality of life in the Village.
The department oversees planned development petitions and amendments to the Village's Comprehensive Plan. The department also is responsible for business attraction and retention efforts.
The department is charged with coordination of Village sponsored events and works closely with the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce, local businesses, and civic organizations to promote special events that enhance the vitality of the Village.
