RE: Barrington Economic Partnership Business Survey Results

Dear Property and Business Owners:

The Barrington Economic Partnership, a coalition comprised of the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce, Our Town Barrington Volunteers and the Village of Barrington, is pleased to share with you the results of the business forums and surveys conducted in 2005 and 2006, which have helped highlight opportunities for Barrington businesses. The Partnership conducted a total of six business forums covering all of the Barrington business corridors and has been discussing how each of the issues raised can be addressed.

The summary of survey results highlights the identified opportunities, the priority of each based on the number of responses received, and the current status of the opportunities, the parties involved in each and what action steps are expected. The action steps primarily address the top issues in each business area, so that the focus will be on the most important issues raised. To view the survey, click this link: SURVEY RESULTS. The Village of Barrington and/or the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce are taking steps towards addressing these issues. Some issues involve coordination with other parties such as the Illinois Department of Transportation or the Barrington Area Council of Governments. As progress is made on these issues, the attached spreadsheet will be updated so that you will have a convenient resource for monitoring the progress on the issues important to you.

As you know, the mission of the Barrington Economic Partnership is to promote an atmosphere of vitality in which flourishing businesses provide a prosperous economic base for the Village and surrounding area, while meeting the needs of area residents. The Partnership appreciates your time and input in this process and is committed to finding viable solutions to the important issues identified in the forums.
