Civil War Re-enactment

  • Date: -

The Village of Barrington and the Barrington Park District will host a Civil War Reenactment at Citizens Park on Northwest Highway.  Experience living history from 1865, when Union and Confederate Civil War Reenactors will bring history to life, complete with authentic soldiers, encampments, cavalry horses, and musicians.

On Saturday, September 19th at 10:30 a.m. at the Barrington Area Library, Guy C. Fraker, author of Lincoln’s Ladder to the Presidency: The Eighth Judicial Circuit, will speak about Lincoln’s career in Illinois.  Explore lesser-known facts about Lincoln’s Circuit experience and significant visits around the state, including Lake County.  You’ll gain even more appreciation for this well-loved president.

On Saturday, September 19th, the entire camp will come to life and open for the public at 10:00 a.m. at Citizens Park.  The event will feature an Abe Lincoln impersonator, medical demonstrations, a fashion show presided over by Mrs. Lincoln, and a battle with commentary.  Food will be available for purchase by Kooker’s from 11:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
