Village Approves 2018 Budget
Residents Will See 8% Decrease in Property Taxes; Slight Increase in Utility Bills
The Board of Trustees of the Village of Barrington approved its 2018 budget at its regular Board meeting on Monday, December 11, 2017.
The 2018 budget does not include significant changes in operations or services from the previous year. However, the 2018 budget does provide funding for some significant infrastructure improvement projects, including the completion of the sanitary sewer main replacement project from the North Commuter Lot to the Russell-Summit area. The 2018 budget also includes the replacement of the Hart Road water main and the building of the storm water detention area in the former Miller Park.
In addition, residents will see an 8% decrease in the Village portion of their property taxes in 2018 and will also see a slight increase in their utility bills (approximately $3 per month) beginning next summer.
