Barrington's White House Year-End Appeal Receives Unprecedented Support
Plus: Construction Loan Paid Off Early; Saves $39,000 in Interest
In November, Barrington's White House put out a call to action to support arts and culture in Barrington, and so far the House has received over 30 year-end donations totaling $35,000. These donations help us bring great artists, performers, speakers and more to Barrington, at ticket prices that are affordable and accessible. In addition, we received a significant year-end gift from the Signal Hill chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution to help us create historic costumes for our docents to wear at Barrington's White House. Please consider joining these generous donors and make a year-end gift -- visit FriendsofBWH.org to find out more.
Barrington’s White House Capital Campaign UpdateOn December 14, 2018, the Village of Barrington will make the final payment to Barrington Bank & Trust for the $5.5 million loan that covered the renovation and restoration of Barrington’s White House in 2015. The loan was repaid from community charitable donations that had been pledged for the construction project. As a result of the accelerated receipt of many pledged donations, the Village was able to retire the loan a year early and will save an estimated $39,000 in interest costs. The Village of Barrington and Barrington's White House would like to express its sincere gratitude to all of the donors who made the renovation of this extraordinary community and cultural center possible and thereby created a community treasure that will be enjoyed for generations.
