Request for Qualifications

Phase 2 & Phase 3 Engineering Services

for Hart Road/Main Street Multi-Use Path

The Village of Barrington will accept sealed Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) until 10:00 A.M., May 25, 2018 to provide Phase 2 and Phase 3 Engineering Services for the Hart Road/Main Street Multi-Use Path Improvements.

To obtain the full Request for Qualifications package and draft Project Development Report, please email Marie Hansen, Village Engineer at mhansen@barrington-il.gov with “Phase 2 & Phase 3 Engineering Services for Hart Road/Main Street Multi-Use Path” in the email subject line.

The proposed multi-use trail would connect the western terminus of the Main Street sidewalk system along Main Street and then continue north along Hart Road to the existing Field of Dreams Bike Path.  Ongoing LCDOT plans for U.S. Route 14 and Hart Road intersection improvements will tie into the north terminus of this proposed path.  The project includes two pedestrian signals at existing lights (Main Street/Hart Road and Hart Road/High School Entrance Drive) and a bridge over the Flint Creek Tributary located near the Barrington High School Football Stadium.  There are other constraints as to width of the path such as right-of-way width and floodplain. Main Street is under the jurisdiction of IDOT and this leg of Hart Road is under the jurisdiction of LCDOT.

Both Phase 2 and Phase 3 will be federally funded. This project will be completed under applicable IDOT guidelines including BLRS and BDE manuals, as well as LCDOT and Village of Barrington standards.

In order to have your SOQ considered, it must be submitted in a sealed envelope containing three (3) bound 8 ½” x 11” copies, with binding running along the left 11” edge, and one digital copy on a compact disk, plainly marked “SOQ for Phase 2 and Phase 3 Engineering Services for Hart Road/Main Street Multi-Use Path Improvements”.

SOQs not physically received by the Village by 10:00 A.M., May 25, 2018, will be returned, unopened to the firm.

All Statements are to be addressed to:

Survey, Design, Permitting and Construction Engineering Services

for Various ADA Improvements and Lot 13 Reconstruction

The Village of Barrington will accept sealed Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) until 10:00 A.M., May 25, 2018 to provide Phase 1, 2 and 3 Engineering Services for the Various ADA Improvements and Lot 13 Reconstruction.

To obtain the full Request for Qualifications package, please email Marie Hansen, Village Engineer at mhansen@barrington-il.gov with “Phase 1, 2 and 3 Engineering Services for the Various ADA Improvements and Lot 13 Reconstruction” in the email subject line.

This project will provide new, concrete ADA compliant intersection ramps at all corners of the intersection of Main Street (Lake Cook Road) and Applebee Street intersection as well as the northern and southeast corners of the Main Street (Lake Cook Road) and Hough Street (Route 59) intersection and the northeast and northwest corners of the Main Street (Lake Cook Road) and Harrison Street intersection. Reconstruction, including provisions for an accessible parking space of Lot 13 is also included in this work. The Lot 13 work is complicated by the existing location of both an IDOT traffic signal box, traffic signal mast poles, and detector loops which may or may not need to be relocated in order to provide an accessible access route. Grading, including potential retaining wall installation, may be necessary to provide an accessible route from the proposed accessible parking space to the public walk. Due to the proposed impacts within IDOT right-of-way, considerable coordination and permitting with IDOT will be necessary.

Please note that the northeast and northwest corners of the Main Street (Lake Cook Road) and Harrison Street intersection design will be requested to be expedited under separate cover by August 2018 and construction for this section will be completed separately from this contract due to existing conditions and emergency repairs needed.

In order to have your SOQ considered, it must be submitted in a sealed envelope containing three (3) bound 8 ½” x 11” copies, with binding running along the left 11” edge, and one digital copy on a compact disk, plainly marked “SOQ for Phase 1, 2, and 3 Engineering Services for Various ADA Improvements and Lot 13 Reconstruction”.

SOQs not physically received by the Village by 10:00 A.M., May 25, 2018, will be returned, unopened to the firm.
