Help DAR Chapter Place Flags on Vietnam War Veterans’ Graves

Signal Hill Chapter, NSDAR, invites all veterans and members of the public to attend the National Vietnam War Veterans Memorial Day Service at Evergreen Cemetery.

A brief program will feature representatives from local VFW, American Legion, and Lake Barrington Shores veterans’ organizations; state and local officers from the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR); and Barrington village officials.

After the playing of taps, 41 Vietnam War Veterans interred at the Evergreen Cemetery will be honored. Volunteers will place a flag on each of the graves while saying the veteran’s name, thanking him or her for their service, and giving them a salute. The DAR will have flags at the event for those who wish to place them.
