The Village of Barrington is seeking a self-motivated individual with a positive work ethic to fill the position of Administrative Intern for the summer months.

General Responsibilities:  Working under the general direction of the Development Services Department, the candidate's duties and responsibilities include assistance with permit processing, file archiving, meeting minutes, computer work, general problem solving and organizational projects. The Development Services Department oversees Planning, Zoning, Engineering and Building functions for the Village and inspections and/or data collection related to these disciplines may also be required on an as-needed basis. 

Position Requirements:  The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent. Current enrollment in a college or program with a focus on an administrative, planning, zoning, engineering or building discipline is preferred. The successful candidate should possess excellent communication and organizational skills.  Proficiency in Microsoft and Google suites and Adobe PDF is necessary.

A valid driver's license is required.  Occasional outdoor work may be required.  The internship offer is contingent upon the candidate's successful completion of a criminal background check and a pre-employment medical exam, including a drug screen.
