Under the direction of the Fire Chief, this individual is responsible for developing and coordinating diverse administrative and support activities. Nature of the work performed requires a professional manner in all dealings with the public and Village and department staff. Work requires the exercise of considerable judgment, initiative, and discretion.
The successful candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, math proficiency, and have proven technical skills in various software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and G Suite. Firehouse software/database software experience is a plus. The candidate must be able to research, compile, analyze, and report data. Experience in budget analysis, purchasing, accounts payable processing, scheduling, and payroll is necessary. In addition, the candidate must have outstanding organizational and time management skills, be detail oriented, with multi-tasking capabilities in a fast paced environment. Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to deal tactfully with the public and a high level of integrity in dealing with confidential and sensitive information is essential.
Associate’s degree in public administration, political science, human resources, business management or a related field or completion of other specialized certification and five years of related experience is required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Salary range, DOQ: $54,000-$74,900 with a competitive benefit package.
