Cultural Affairs

The Cultural Affairs Department is responsible for providing for an exceptional and vibrant cultural and arts life for the Village of Barrington and those visiting from surrounding areas. Responsibilities include:

  • Management of the Barrington’s White House, including venue and budget management, donor and community engagement and strategic vision
  • Oversight of Barrington’s Cultural Commission  and cultural activities present by the Village
  • Collaboration with established arts organizations within the Village

Barrington’s White House

Barrington’s White House is the Village of Barrington’s cultural and community center. Opened in 2015, it has become a vibrant hub for artistic performances, educational lectures, weddings, and events. Its mission is to provide high-quality cultural experiences and foster a sense of community through shared events.

Barrington’s cultural commission

The Barrington Cultural Commission is a 12-member body whose purpose is to help create, coordinate and cross-promote cultural activities occurring in the Village. The Cultural Commission meets the second Wednesday of each month at Barrington’s White House at noon.
