Road Information
Not all roads within the Village of Barrington fall under the Village’s jurisdiction. Basic roadway maintenance and upkeep are the responsibility of each respective agency. This includes items such as snow plowing, road repair and construction, traffic signs, traffic signal timing, etc. If you notice an issue that needs attention on a roadway listed below, you may contact the responsible agency directly or you may contact the Village and we can assist with relaying your concerns.
Roadway Jurisdiction
IDOT has jurisdiction over the following roads:
- Main Street (Lake Cook)
- Hough Street (Route 59)
- Northwest Highway (Route 14)
- Barrington Road
Cook County has jurisdiction over the following roads:

Ela Road south of Lake Cook Road
Lake County has jurisdiction over the following roads:

Ela Road north of Lake Cook Road
