Current Construction Information – Updated July 26, 2022

Main Street Improvements (IDOT)

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) continues to manage work on Main Street throughout the Village from just west of Hart Road to just east of Ela Road. This work includes reconstruction of sidewalk at intersections, some curb improvements, and removal and replacement of the asphalt pavement.

Sidewalk and curb work has been substantially completed on the north side of the street and has now transitioned to the south side of the street, resulting in some temporary sidewalk closures. Please utilize the sidewalk on the north side of Main Street during this time. Pedestrian detour signage will be in place during this work.

Intermittent roadway lane closures will continue to be facilitated with flaggers during paving operations and 2-way traffic will be maintained throughout the work zone during the project.

Hart Road Bridge Replacement (LCDOT)

Lake County Department of Transportation (LCDOT) has completed the north bridge abutment and poured the south abutment. Retaining wall and storm sewer construction are ongoing. Roadway reopening is scheduled for November 4th per the contract, however, the contractor is working hard to facilitate opening of the roadway ahead of this date. As work continues to progress additional information  will be provided.  The current closure and detour route are shown below.
