REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS/REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFQ/RFP)

Route 14 Grade Separation Phase II Engineering Services 

Notice is hereby given that the Village of Barrington (the “Village”) will receive Statements of

Qualifications at the Village Hall, 200 S. Hough, Barrington, IL 60010 until November 1, 2019 at 10:00 am for Phase II Engineering Services for the Route 14 Grade Separation Project.

 

Project funding will likely include federal Surface Transportation Program (STP) and Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) contributions, therefore, all work will be done in accordance with STP and IDOT guidelines. The Village of Barrington is soliciting Statements of Qualifications in accordance with the Village’s policy for Qualifications Based Selection for Federally Funded Projects from all firms desiring to be considered for this project.

 

Description of Services

The proposed work is officially known as the Route 14 Grade Separation Project Phase II Engineering Services, as further described in the Project Description and Scope of Services sections of this RFQ.

 

Engineer Interviews

Engineers must be prepared to attend an interview and negotiate the final contract Scope of Services with the Village prior to the awarding of the contract. Interviews are expected to be conducted at a mutually agreeable time during the period of November 11 through November 15.

 

Availability and Clarification of Documents

This RFQ and any addendums will be posted on the Village’s website at: https://www.barrington-il.gov/government/departments/development_services/requests_for_qualifications_and_proposals.php

 

The Village will provide potential respondents additional information from the Phase I Engineering work completed to date upon request.  The same information will be provided to all firms.  Please email Marie Hansen mhansen@barrington-il.gov to request this information.

 

Any questions related to this RFQ should be submitted in writing to Marie Hansen, Village Engineer, via email at mhansen@barrington-il.gov. Questions received and the Village’s responses will be posted to the Village website. The deadline for submitting questions is 2:00 pm on October 23, 2019.

 

Written acknowledgment of each addendum shall be included with all statement of qualifications submissions. Oral explanations will not be binding.

 

No clarifications, interpretations or addenda shall be issued after 2:00 pm on October 25, 2019. It is the sole responsibility of the Engineer to check the Village’s website to determine if an addendum has been posted.

Metra Access Drive Phase III Engineering Services 

Notice is hereby given that the Village of Barrington (the “Village”) will receive Statements of

Qualifications at the Village Hall, 200 S. Hough, Barrington, IL 60010 until November 1, 2019 at 10:00 am for Phase III Engineering Services for the Metra Access Drive Project.

 

These Phase III services are funded through the federal Surface Transportation Program (STP); and all work must be done in accordance with STP and IDOT guidelines. The Village of Barrington is soliciting Statements of Qualifications in accordance with the Village’s policy for Qualifications Based Selection for Federally Funded Projects from all firms desiring to be considered for this project.

 

Description of Services

The proposed work is officially known as the Metra Access Drive Project Phase III Engineering Services. The project is located in the Village of Barrington, Cook County. The project limits are on US Route 14 from Main Street (Lake Cook Road) to Eastern Avenue. The project has a total length of 0.19 miles.

 

The work includes construction of a new full movement signalized intersection and access drive including construction of an eastbound right turn lane and installation of a new traffic signal on Northwest Highway, conversion of Klingenberg Lane to right-in/right-out access, modification of adjoining commercial access points, modification of existing parking lot access drives, and all incidental and collateral work necessary to complete the project as shown on the plans.
