INVITATION FOR BIDS - Hart Road and Main Street Water Main Improvements

Public notice is hereby given by the Village of Barrington, Lake County, Illinois that sealed bids for the Hart Road and Main Street Water Main Replacement Project will be received at the office of Melanie Marcordes, Deputy Village Clerk, Barrington Village Hall, 200 South Hough Street, Barrington, Illinois 60010. Bids will be received until 10:30 AM, Tuesday, February 2, 2021.

 

A virtual public bid opening will take place immediately. The bids will be opened and read aloud during a live, online meeting hosted by the Village of Barrington via the Zoom video conferencing platform. A link to this online meeting will be forwarded to all parties who reach out to obtain contract documents and will be posted on this page prior to the Bid Opening.

 

Specifications, Bid Documents and Contract Documents may be obtained from Jay Beverly, Engineering Inspector/Project Manager via email at jbeverly@barrington-il.gov with “Hart Road and Main Street Water Main Replacement” in the subject line.

 

This project includes, but is not limited to, the following major work items: pavement removal; 1,850’ of 8” directionally drilled water main replacement and related appurtenances; water service connections; 210’ of 15” storm sewer improvements; curb and gutter removal and replacement at various locations; asphalt and concrete pavement patching; restoration; and other appurtenant work for a total distance of 0.4 miles on Hart Road and 0.1 miles on Main Street (Lake Cook Road) in the Village of Barrington.

 

State of Illinois, Department of Transportation, Contractor Pre-Qualification and Subcontractor Pre-Qualification/Registration is required.

 

Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond, Bank Cashier's Check or Certified Check in the amount of TEN (10) percent of the total bid amount made payable to the Village of Barrington shall accompany the bid.

 

It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor and Subcontractor to comply with the Village of Barrington Ordinance No. 16-4605, adopted by the President and Board of Trustees on October 10, 2016, relative to prevailing wages of laborers, mechanics, and other works employed in any Public Works as amended by Public Acts 86-799 and 86-693.

 

A Special Provision for time of completion is included with the contract.

 

The Village of Barrington reserves the right to reject any and all bids and bidders and to waive all technicalities.  All bid proposals submitted shall be valid for a period of one hundred twenty (120) days. The Village reserves the right to award to any bidder based on negotiation with any and all bidders after receipt of bids.

Metra Access Drive Phase III Engineering Services 

Notice is hereby given that the Village of Barrington (the “Village”) will receive Statements of

Qualifications at the Village Hall, 200 S. Hough, Barrington, IL 60010 until November 1, 2019 at 10:00 am for Phase III Engineering Services for the Metra Access Drive Project.

 

These Phase III services are funded through the federal Surface Transportation Program (STP); and all work must be done in accordance with STP and IDOT guidelines. The Village of Barrington is soliciting Statements of Qualifications in accordance with the Village’s policy for Qualifications Based Selection for Federally Funded Projects from all firms desiring to be considered for this project.
