The Department of Financial Services is responsible for maintaining the Village’s financial assets and providing excellent customer service to residents, businesses, and visitors.
The Department is the first point of contact for those who call the Village’s main phone line (847) 304-3400 or walk into Village Hall. Financial Services is responsible for utility billing (water, sewer, and refuse collection services), receiving all payments for Village services, and issuing parking permits for commuter and employer/employee parking lots.
Financial Services is also primarily responsible for providing support services to the Village Board, Village Manager, and other Departments of the Village. These services include accounting, payroll, accounts payable, purchasing management, and investment of the Village’s financial assets. Financial Services is also responsible for preparing the annual operating budget and the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. The Director of Financial Services also serves as the Village Treasurer and therefore also functions as the Treasurer for the Village’s Police and Fire pension funds.

The IT Division researches and implements new and innovative ways to utilize technology that enables Village staff to better serve the residents of our Village. The IT Division strives to provide staff with “the right tool for the job” and fully investigates and considers all feasible options without loyalty to vendor, brand or manufacturer. It is the goal of the IT Division to address staff issues in a timely and courteous manner with constant awareness of the impact to the staff and also to the resident. The IT Division is responsible for maintaining the security of Village data and technology assets and promotes technology and information security awareness through staff training and educational documentation.
