Smoke Alarm Installation Program
The Fire Department is working cooperatively with the non-profit Illinois Fire Safety Alliance and Office of the State Fire Marshal to provide no-cost smoke alarms to residents of the Village of Barrington. This program provides smoke alarms and fire prevention materials to Illinois fire departments to assist in educating residents on fire safety, as well as provide them with life-saving devices in their home. Residents who wish to receive more information about the smoke alarm installation program, please contact (847) 304-3600.

CPR CLasses
The Barrington Fire Department is facilitating American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR courses. CPR – or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation – is an emergency lifesaving procedure performed when the heart stops beating. Immediate CPR can double or triple chances of survival after cardiac arrest. If you are interested in becoming certified, register at the links below or contact Firefighter/Paramedic Andrew Teuber at ateuber@barrington-il.gov.

Fire Station Tour
The Fire Department opens its doors and provides station tours for groups of all ages. These tours provide the opportunity to see where firefighters live and work, and the machines and equipment we use to respond to emergencies. To schedule a group tour, please contact the Fire Department at (847) 304-3600. Please note that group size may be limited.
Blood Pressure Check
The Fire Department offers free blood pressure checks daily between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
