Community Emergency Response Team ("CERT")
Members of the community can attend a special training program in order to assist village emergency responders in the event of a catastrophic event.
Police Explorer Post
If you’re between the ages of 12-20 years old and have a law enforcement interest, the Barrington Police Explorers attend meetings, participate in patrol ride-alongs, conduct training exercises and assist in community events such as Thursday evening "Cruise Nights."
Premise Alert Program
The Premise Alert Program provides first responders with medical information before they arrive at an emergency scene. Through the Premise Alert Program, citizens can inform local police and fire departments about a family member who may require special assistance or treatment at home. That could be a lifesaver for families caring for loved ones with medical problems relating to Alzheimer's, Autism, Quadriplegia, etc. Information provided to the Barrington Police and Fire departments is stored in a database and kept confidential to be used only by police, fire and emergency medical personnel responding to specified locations. This data will alert first responders to handle each specific emergency.
