Mike Moran Sworn in as New Village Trustee
At its regular meeting on Monday, August 19, the Village of Barrington Board of Trustees accepted the formal resignation of Trustee Jeff Janssen, who stepped down from his position as Trustee as his family is relocating out of state this month. The board also approved the appointment of Mike Moran to fill Mr. Janssen’s seat.
Jeff Janssen has served the Barrington community as a trustee since April 2017. His leadership, business acumen, and participation on the Board was instrumental in bringing to fruition many important projects over the past 2 years. On behalf of the entire Village of Barrington, the Village Board thanked him for his service and dedication to our community.
Incoming Trustee Mike Moran is a 14-year resident of the Village of Barrington and lives in Fox Point. He and his wife, Kathy, have two children, Grace (16) and Jack (21). Both attended Lines Elementary School, Station Middle School, and Barrington High School.
Mike has a degree in business from the University of Illinois and operates a local/regional trucking company based in Elk Grove Village. He is the current president of the Fox Point Homeowners Association and has been very active in the community for a number of years. Mike will fill the unexpired term of Jeff Janssen until that office is filled at the consolidated election in 2021.
