Barrington residents should be aware of state regulations regarding pesticide applications on public rights-of-way that took effect January 1, 2025. Under Public Act 103-0976 (The Pesticide Application on Rights-of-Way Notification Act), we are implementing enhanced notification procedures to keep our community informed about pesticide applications.
Village-wide application of a herbicide to control broadleaf weeds is scheduled to occur from April 13-17, 2026, on all Village rights of way, weather permitting. Residents and pets should not enter treated areas until they are dry, which typically takes one to two hours.
