Enhancements Anticipated to Begin This Fall
You will soon notice some construction activity at the Barrington Public Works Facility. The Village has planned major upgrades to its Wastewater Treatment Plant located at 302 N. Raymond Ave. Improvements include the installation of new process equipment, clarifiers and other upgrades to meet water quality requirements of the water that is discharged into the Flint Creek tributary. Funding for this project was provided by a low-interest loan from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency’s Water Pollution Control Loan Program (WPCLP). The WPCLP is funded by both state and federal sources. The $70 million loan has an interest rate of 1.96% and will be repaid over 30 years. For more information, contact Public Works at (847) 381-7903.
