Communications/Marketing & Events
To request that information for your non-profit event be publicized through our marketing channels, please use our Marketing Request Form.
The Communications, Marketing, and Events Department is responsible for all Village of Barrington communications to the public, as well as for the marketing and execution of numerous Barrington events, including events at Barrington’s White House.
The Department is responsible for a weekly email blast to the community regarding upcoming news and events. We also oversee the Village’s social media presence and web site.
We have several marketing and communications resources available to the community:
Nonprofits and local businesses may submit event information for our e-newsletters by emailing information to Clancy Potts. Please note that we cannot publish sales or advertising information for businesses; we can publish anniversaries or upcoming events.
Nonprofits may also request to have their information placed on the Community Events electronic sign (near the Barrington Train Station), or on Channel 4, Barrington’s cable-access network. In addition, organizations may request hanging banner space at our Gazebo at the corner of Main and Hough Streets. Gazebo banners are subject to a fee and to availability. You may request Gazebo banner dates beginning on January 1 of each year.
For additional detail please visit Advertising on Village Media. To request that information be placed in any of the above areas, please use the Marketing Request Form.
Community Events & Permits
The Communications, Marketing and Events Department is also responsible for executing a number of large community events each year, including the Barrington Art Festival; Fourth of July Parade; Cruise Nights/Summer Fun Thursdays; Scarecrow Festival; and the annual Holiday Festival and Tree Lighting. In addition, the department works with the Barrington Cultural Commission and Barrington’s White House to produce and market dozens of additional cultural events each year.
Finally, the department works closely with numerous nonprofit organizations to facilitate other events in Barrington, including the Farmers Market, Barrington Wine Walk, the Brat Tent, and more.
If your organization is planning an event in Barrington, you must fill out certain applications and permits. Please contact Clancy Potts (847-304-3406) to learn more.
